ARC Lifeguarding and Waterpark Skills - 265227

The American Red Cross lifeguard training includes both testing of hands-on skills as well as comprehension on written tests. The course trains lifeguards to act with speed and confidence in emergency situations both in and out of the water. The certification, which includes First Aid, CPR and AED training, is valid for two years upon completion and is accepted nationwide. The American Red Cross is the most respected source for training and certification of this kind.

Prerequisites
-Online content (estimated 6 hours completion time) that must be completed before the first in-person class session.
- Minimum age of 15.
- Swim 150 yards, tread water for 2 minutes without the use of your hands, Swim another 50 yards. Strokes allowed are front crawl and breast stroke. Swim must be continuous
- Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–12 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

This class will be on Friday - 5pm-9pm and Saturday and Sunday - 9am-7:30pm
